Manakamana Day Trip is amazing as this trip takes travelers to the vicinity of the holy Muktinath temple surrounded by snow-capped towering peaks. Manakamana is a popular Hindu pilgrimage site situated at an elevation of 1,300 m dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. It is believed that this temple fulfills the wishes of the devotees as the name Manakamana translates to wish fulfillment. This temple is in the Gorkha district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. In 1678, it was founded by Arman Rayamajhi.

Tour Itinerary

Manakamana Day trip starts with a scenic drive at around 6:30 am from Kathmandu to Kurintar on the Prithvi Highway which is approx. 140 km. It takes about 3-4 hours to reach Kurintar depending on road traffic. After arriving at Kurintar, take a scenic Cable Car ride over the confluence of the Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers admiring the surrounding verdant greenery. An exciting cable car ride takes about 8-9 minutes to the station. Upon reaching the station, walk to the temple’s premises which takes 10-15 minutes to get there.

Visit the two-storey traditional pagoda-style Manakamana temple which is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. Get rewarded with the phenomenal views of Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna, Lamjung, etc. from the hilltop. Spend some time here, take pictures, and explore the temple premises. Return to Kurintar relishing the scenery via the cable car.
